Dear Sirs,

US: Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products: Test Procedures for Refrigerators, Refrigerator-Freezers, and Freezers
The US Department of Energy published in the Federal Register (FR) of 25 January 2012 a final rule amending its interim final rule of 16 December 2010 concerning test procedures for refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers and freezers. The FR notice is available at:
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-01-25/pdf/2012-1341.pdf.
DETAILS
2.The amendments modify the required test period for certain part of the test for products with cycling compressor systems and long-time automatic defrost or variable defrost control. They also adjust the default values of maximum and minimum compressor run time for products with variable defrost. The changes will ensure a more accurate measurement of the energy use of products.
3.The amendments are effective from 24 February 2012 and will apply to newly manufactured products starting 15 September 2014.
