Commercial Information Circular No. 620/2012

Brazil : Modification of Import Tariffs on Various Products

The Brazilian Government has modified the import tariffs of a number of products. A summary of the changes is set out as follows:

  1. Import tariffs of other photographic film and instant print film for X-ray classified under Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) Common Classification (NCM) codes 3701.10.29 will increase from 8% to 14% from 1 September 2012 until 31 December 2015.

  2. Import tariffs of certain X-ray film sensitised on both sides classified under NCM code 3702.10.20 will increase from 4% to 14% from 1 September 2012 until 31 December 2015.

  3. Import tariffs of certain sulphuric acid classified under NCM code 2807.00.10 will increase from 0% to 4% from 1 September 2012 until 31 December 2015.

  4. Import tariffs of certain isomer mixtures (toluene diisocyanate - TDI) classified under NCM code 2929.10.21 have been reduced from 14% to 2% from 20 June 2012.

  5. Import tariffs of certain bricks classified under NCM code 6902.10.18 have been increased from 10% to 35% from 20 June 2012.

  6. Import tariffs of certain graders classified under NCM codes 8429.20.10 and 8429.20.90 have been increased from 0% and 14% respectively to 35% from 20 June 2012.

  7. Import tariffs of certain backhoes classified under NCM code 8429.59.00 have been increased from 14% to 35% from 20 June 2012.

  8. Import tariffs of certain coconuts classified under NCM code 0801.11.00 will increase from 10% to 55% from 1 September 2012.
