Commercial Information Circular No. 618/2012
Chile : Test Protocol for Certain Household Products
The Chilean Government issued an Exempt Resolution No. 484/2012 on 9 June 2012 to update the test protocol for certification of certain domestically manufactured or imported household products, including tin openers, knife sharpeners, butter kneaders, mixers, sieves, knives, juice makers, blenders, liquidisers, multi-use machines, machines used for cutting green beans, ice-cream makers, bread/cheese/meat slicing machines, food mixers, potato peelers, food grinders and cheese graters.
2. Domestic manufacturers, importers and distributors of the household products will be required to obtain conformity certification issued in accordance with the new test protocol PE No.1/11 of 1 March 2012, which will take effect from 1 October 2012.
