Dear Sirs,

US : Amendment to the Food Additive Regulations Concerning Baby Bottles and Sippy Cups
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued in the Federal Register (FR) of 17 July 2012 a final rule to amend the food additive regulations concerning baby bottles and sippy cups. The FR notice is available at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-07-17/pdf/2012-17366.pdf.
DETAILS
2. The FDA is amending the food additive regulations in this final rule to no longer provide for the use of polycarbonate (PC) resins in infant feeding bottles (baby bottles) and spill-proof cups, including their closures and lids, designed to help train babies and toddlers to drink from cups (sippy cups), as these uses have been abandoned.
3. The final rule is effective 17 July 2012. Interested parties may submit electronic or written objections and requests for hearing to the FDA by 16 August 2012.
