Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 505/2012

US : Anti-dumping Action against Xanthan Gum from the Mainland of China : Initiation of Investigation

The US Department of Commerce (DoC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 2 July 2012 the initiation of anti-dumping duty investigation to determine whether imports of xanthan gum from the Mainland of China were being, or were likely to be, sold in the US at less than fair value. The FR notice on the initiation of anti-dumping investigation is available at http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-07-02/pdf/2012-16183.pdf.

2.Exporters and producers wishing to obtain separate-rate status in the anti-dumping investigation are required to submit a separate-rate status application. The specific requirements for submitting the separate-rate application are detailed in the application itself, which is available on the DoC's website at http://ia.ita.doc.gov/ia-highlights-and-news.html. The separate-rate application is due 60 days after publication of the FR notice. Also, DoC requests quantity and value (Q & V) information from known exporters and producers identified with complete contact information in the petition for use as the basis to select the mandatory respondents. The Q & V questionnaire as well as the filing instructions are also available on the above-mentioned DoC's website. The Q & V questionnaire is due no later than 16 July 2012. DoC requires that the respondents submit a response to both the Q & V questionnaire and the separate-rate application by the respective deadlines in order to receive consideration for separate-rate status.
