Brazil : Changes of Southern Common Market Common Classification and Common External Tariff
The Brazilian Government issued Resolution No. 94/2011 on 12 December 2011 to change the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) Common Classification (NCM) and Common External Tariff (TEC) to adapt to the changes in Harmonized System, which came into force on 1 January 2012. It also set out the list of exceptions to TEC and the list of exceptions for goods, and information technology and telecommunications, with the respective import tariff rates which will be valid until 31 December 2015.
2. The Brazilian Government further issued Resolution No. 29/2012 on 9 May 2012 to exclude certain amino-resins classified under NCM code 3909.30.20 from the list of exception in Resolution No. 94/2011, with effect from 9 May 2012. The amino-resin is subject to MFN applied duty rate of 14%
