US : Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Residential Clothes Washers
The US Department of Energy (DoE) published in the Federal Register (FR) of 31 May 2012 a direct final rule amending the energy conservation standards for residential clothes washers. Relevant FR notice is available at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-05-31/pdf/2012-12320.pdf.
DETAILS
2.The amended standards for the subject products, which are a minimum allowable integrated modified energy factor and maximum allowable integrated water factor, are shown in Table I-1 of the above-mentioned FR notice.
3.The effective date of the direct final rule is 28 September 2012 unless adverse comment is received by 18 September 2012. If no adverse comment is received, compliance with the amended standards for residential clothes washers will be required on 7 March 2015 and 1 January 2018 as appropriate.
