Mexico : Bilateral Agreement to Manage Chinese Footwear Imports into Mexico

The Mexican Ministry of Economy and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts (CCCLA) entered into an agreement in March 2012 establishing a framework to manage Chinese footwear imports into Mexico. DETAILS

2. The agreement covers 31 footwear products as classified under Mexico's Harmonized Tariff Schedule (8-digits). Starting 1 May 2012, Chinese footwear imports into Mexico have to be accompanied by relevant documents as certified and endorsed by CCCLA for customs declaration in Mexico. CCCLA will only certify and endorse those product items with an export (FOB) price at or above the minimum reference price set out in the agreement. 3. Unless otherwise terminated, the agreement is set to expire on 31 December 2014.
