Commercial Information Circular No. 340/2012
Brazil : Revised Technical Requirements for Household Microwave Ovens
The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circulars No. 125/2012 of 16 February 2012 and No. 158/2012 of 28 February 2012 that the Brazilian Government has established conformity certification requirements and technical requirements for microwave ovens. The National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued Decree No. 174/2012 on 12 April 2012 to revise the technical requirements for household microwave oven as spelt out in Decree No. 499/2011. The new requirements have come into effect on 12 April 2012.
