Mexico : Amendments to Labelling Requirements for Certain Electronic and Electrical Products
The Mexican Ministry of Economy (MoE) published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federacion) of 19 April 2012 a resolution amending the labelling requirements for certain electronic and electrical products (NOM-024-SCFI-1998). DETAILS
2.The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 25/2012 of 9 January 2012 the MoE's proposal to amend the subject labelling requirements. MoE is now publishing a resolution adopting the proposed amendments to require:
information in the label to be truthful and presented in a way that does not mislead the consumer;
specific language on the label for television reception apparatus that are unable to receive transmissions according to Standard A/53 of the Advanced Television Systems Committee; and
certain information and specific language in the product instructions and warning.
3.The amendments will be in force 60 days after publication of the resolution (i.e. 18 June 2012).
