US : Energy Conservation Program: Test Procedures for Electric Motors and Small Electric Motors
The US Department of Energy published in the Federal Register (FR) of 4 May 2012 a final rule amending its current test procedures and definitions for electric motors and small electric motors. The FR notice is available at:

DETAILS
2. The changes promulgated in the final rule will not affect the measured efficiency of the equipment. Instead, they will primarily clarify certain terms, language and scope of energy conservation standards for electric motors. They will also minimise any potential ambiguity in the test procedures for electric motors and small electric motors.
3.The final rule is effective 4 June 2012. The final rule changes will be required for equipment testing starting 31 October 2012.
