Commercial Information Circular No. 311/2012

US : Modification to Content Published by Import Administration in the Federal Register

The US Department of Commerce published in the Federal Register (FR) of 30 April 2012 a notice modifying the manner in which determinations in anti-dumping and countervailing duty proceedings are made available to the public. The FR notice is available at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-04-30/pdf/2012-10354.pdf. 

DETAILS

2.Major modifications include:

  • Beginning 15 May 2012, the Import Administration (IA) will no longer publish extension notices for preliminary and final results of reviews in the FR. Rather, these extensions will be published in calendar form on the IA website, available at http://ia.ita.doc.gov/frn;
     

  • On 15 May 2012, IA will stop publishing Advance Notification of Sunset Reviews when no such review is scheduled for initiation the following month;
     

  • The next quarterly scope decision will no longer contain a list of pending scope decisions; and
     

  • Beginning 1 September 2012, abbreviated notices for all preliminary determinations and preliminary results of review will be published in the FR, while the memorandum accompanying each notice that includes the background, methodology and additional content will be posted on the IA website, available at http://ia.ita.doc.gov/frn.

3.It is also anticipated that other IA notices will be published in abbreviated format in the near future, following implementation of the above changes.
