The US Department of Labour (DoL) published in the Federal Register (FR) of 3 April 2012 a notice revising the list required by Executive Order (EO) 13126 ("Prohibition of Acquisition of Products Produced by Forced or Indentured Child Labour"). The FR notice is available at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-04-03/pdf/2012-7961.pdf.

DETAILS

2.The FR notice revises, with immediate effect, the subject list last updated in May 2011. Three products, namely bricks from Afghanistan, and cassiterite and coltan from the Democratic Republic of the Congo are added to the list. Federal contractors who supply products which appear on the list are required to certify, among others, that they have made a good faith effort to determine whether forced or indentured child labour was used to mine, produce or manufacture the relevant item.

3.For further details including the list of products and countries on the EO 13126 list, please refer to DoL's website at http://www.dol.gov/ILAB/regs/eo13126/main.htm.
