Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 24/2012
Mexico : New System for Detecting Undervaluation of Imports
The tax branch of the Mexican government, the Servicio de Administración Tributaria, launched on 15 December 2011 a new pre-validation system to detect undervaluation of imports. For further details, please refer to the subject press release "Nuevo sistema para detectar la subvaluación" (in Spanish) issued on 6 December 2011: http://www.sat.gob.mx/sitio_internet/servicios/noticias_boletines/33_22116.html#com2011_198.
2. The new system allows Mexican customs agents to identify undervaluations prior to dispatch of imported goods for appropriate follow up actions. Pre-validation commences with more than 400 customs tariff codes in the textile sector, to be followed by the footwear and clothing sectors.
