Mexico: Energy Efficiency Standard for Refrigerators and Freezers

The Mexican Ministry of Energy published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federacion) of 16 February 2012 a new energy efficiency standard for refrigerators and freezers. DETAILS

2.The new standard NOM-015-ENER-2012 replaces the existing standard NOM-015-ENER-2002. Among others, the new standard updates the limit of maximum energy consumption for the subject products, provides test methods to determine the energy consumption and specifies the energy labelling requirements. The new standard is effective 90 calendar days after its publication in the Official Gazette (i.e., 16 May 2012).
