Commercial Information Circular No. 1097/2012

Mexico : Official Standard for LED Street Lights for Highways and Outdoor Public Areas

The Mexican authorities published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) of 6 November 2012 an official standard NOM-031-ENER-2012 for street lights with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) designed for highways and outdoor public areas. DETAILS

2.The official standard applies to LED street lights for highways and outdoor public areas that are marketed and installed within Mexico. Among others, it establishes the luminous efficiency specifications, test methods and labelling requirements for the products concerned.

3.The official standard will enter into force 180 calendar days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
