Commercial Information Circular No. 1035/2012

Brazil : Limits of Drugs in Food of Animal Origin

The National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) of Brazil issued Resolution No. 53/2012 on 3 October 2012 to incorporate the Mercosur Resolution No. 54/2000 into its national legislation. The Mercosur Resolution established the analytical methodologies, limits on acceptable daily intake and maximum residue amount for drugs in food of animal origin. The Brazilian Resolution took effect from 3 October 2012.
