The Argentine Government has issued on 7 November 2011 a Resolution No. 722/2011 to establish a computerised system for the "Register of Imports for Publishing Sector" (or "Registro de Importaciones del Sector Editorial" (eRISE) in Spanish). The Resolution (in Spanish) is available at
http://infoleg.mecon.gov.ar/infolegInternet/anexos/185000-189999/189321/norma.htm.
2.The eRISE is an electronic system established for the collection of information, monitoring and control of book imports.
3.Companies already registered with the eRISE or non-registered companies who intend to use eRISE should complete initial registration following methods 1 and 2 set out in the Appendix of the Resolution respectively. Companies may then submit to the eRISE "Annual Declaration" (or "la Declaración Jurada Anual" in Spanish), "Bi-monthly Declaration" (or "la Declaración Jurada Bimestral" in Spanish) and "Prior Statistical Certification" (or "la Certificación Estadística Previa" in Spanish) concerning the import, stock, purchase, sale and consumption, etc. of books.
4.For details, traders are advised to consult their importers in Argentina and/or the above Argentine Resolution.
