Commercial Information Circular No. 764/2011

Mexico : Advance Air Manifest Requirement

The tax branch of the Mexican government, the Servicio de Administración Tributaria, has recently put in place an advance air manifest requirement for airlines and international cargo agents for goods destined for Mexico. For further details, please refer to regulations 1.9.10 and 1.9.15 of the Reglas de Carácter General en Materia de Comercio Exterior para 2011 (in Spanish), available at: http://dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle.php?codigo=5202797&fecha=29/07/2011.

2.Under the regulations, specified information relating to shipments to Mexico has to be transmitted electronically in advance to the relevant Mexican authorities. For flights from Hong Kong and the Mainland of China, the required information has to be filed within four hours upon departure of the plane.
