Commercial Information Circular No. 109/2011

US : CPSC's 2011 update of CPSIA Certification Requirements and Stays of Enforcement

The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 101/2011 of 9 February 2011 that the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced to further extend the stay of enforcement of testing and certification requirements pertaining to total lead content in children's products (except for metal components of children's metal jewelry) and related products until 31 December 2011. Further to the announcement, the CPSC has also updated the table summarising the certification requirements for certain products pertaining to the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). The table can be found at CPSC's designated webpage for CPSIA at: http://www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/reqstay.html.
