US : Informed Compliance Publication on Classification of Footwear
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has recently issued a revised informed compliance publication (ICP) entitled "What Every Member of the Trade Community Should Know About: Footwear". The ICP provides guidance regarding the classification of footwear and footwear parts classified in Chapter 64 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS). It is noted that the CBP has revised the HTSUS Chapter 64 exclusions and added footwear definitions to the ICP.
