Argentina : Ban on Mercury-Containing Sphygmomanometers
The Argentine Government will prohibit the production, importation and sale of mercury-containing sphygmomanometers for use by the general public as well as for medical and veterinary settings. The ban for production and importation will enter into force on 17 May 2010 and the ban for selling such products will be effective from 15 August 2010. Traders are advised to approach their importers in Argentina for further information or clarification of the relevance of the above measures to their exports to Argentina, if necessary.
