Commercial Information Circular No. 108/2009
US : Informed Compliance Publication on Classification of Fibers and Yarns
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has recently issued a revised informed compliance publication (ICP) entitled "What Every Member of the Trade Community Should Know About: Classification of Fibers and Yarns under the HTSUS". The ICP provides guidance for the classification of fibers and yarns classified in Chapters 50 through 58 of the US Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTSUS). It is noted that certain details in the chart "Classifying Textile Yarns (Overview)" on page 15 has been revised.
- Because of the bulkiness of the ICP, it is not appended to this circular. Interested parties may download the ICP from the CBP's website at: http://www.cbp.gov/ linkhandler/cgov/trade/legal/informed_compliance_pubs/icp005r2.ctt/icp005r2.pdf. Commercial Information Circular No. 450/2008 dated 4 September 2008 is hereby superceded.
