"Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" (C-TPAT) - Useful
information provided in Customs and Border Protection's Trade Symposium
The US Customs
and Border Protection (CBP) held its 6th annual trade symposium with
a theme on globalizing trade security and facilitation in November 2005.
"Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" (C-TPAT), which
is CBP's initiative launched since 2001 for building government-business
cooperative relationships in order to strengthen overall supply chain
and border security, was one major discussion subject. Apart from C-TPAT,
the symposium also covered issues like the World Customs Organization's
framework of standards to secure and facilitate global trade, industry
compliance, cargo targeting etc..
