Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 32/2006
US: "Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" (C-TPAT) - Useful information provided in Customs and Border Protection's Trade Symposium
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) held its 6th annual trade symposium with a theme on globalizing trade security and facilitation in November 2005. "Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" (C-TPAT), which is CBP's initiative launched since 2001 for building government-business cooperative relationships in order to strengthen overall supply chain and border security, was one major discussion subject. Apart from C-TPAT, the symposium also covered issues like the World Customs Organization's framework of standards to secure and facilitate global trade, industry compliance, cargo targeting etc..
- Traders may wish to visit CBP's designated webpage: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/communications_to_trade/trade_2005/ for useful information, updates and Q&As of C-TPAT and other subjects covered in the symposium. For details on C-TPAT, traders may wish to refer to Commercial Information Circular No 113/2005 and previous circulars under the same reference.
