US : FDA Issues Updated Guidance Documents on Prior Notice Requirement of Imported Food - Gift Packs and Sending Food Through International Mail
Further to Commercial Information Circular (CIC) No. 151/2004 dated 4 June 2004, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently posted to its website updated guidance documents on importing gift packs and sending food through international mail. Copies of the documents are at Annexes A (pdf format) and B (pdf format).
- The FDA will update or issue new guidance documents, questions and answers (Q&As) and compliance policy guides on the prior notice requirement as well as other requirements under the Bioterrorism Act. Traders are advised to visit FDA's website at http://www.cfsan.fda.gov from time to time to obtain the latest information.
