Commercial Information Circular No. 309/2003

US : Updated Interim Bioterrorism Trade Act Procedures for Trade Partners

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 307/2003 dated 17 December 2003, the US Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has updated its guidance document entitled "Interim Bioterrorism Trade Act (BTA) Procedures for Trade Partners" issued in early December (vide CIC No. 299/2003 dated 8 December 2003). Among the latest changes, CBP has spelt out clearly the timeframe of the four phases of implementation of the prior notice reporting requirements of the BTA over eight months.
