Commercial Information Circular No. 27/2003

US : Open Enrolment of "Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" Program to US Marine Port Authorities and Terminal Operators

 

The US Customs Service has announced that membership for the "Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" (C-TPAT) programme would be open to US domestic marine port authorities and terminal operators from 21 January 2003. The programme is currently open to US importers, carriers, brokers, freight forwarders and non-vessel operating common carriers. Traders may refer to Commercial Information Circulars Nos. 58/02, 137/02 and 172/02 dated 28 March 2002, 24 July 2002 and 26 August 2002 respectively for information.

The US Customs Service has made available on its website (http://www.customs.gov) relevant details on the application procedure, agreement to voluntarily participate, security profile questionnaires for each specific sector in the supply chain. For further information about the programme, interested parties may approach Messrs. Edward Moriarty and William Ferrara, officers responsible for C-TPAT in the US Customs Service, at 1-202-927-0520 or by email at industry.partnership@customs.treas.gov.
