Commercial Information Circular No. 152 /99

USA : Modification of Marking Requirements for Watches and Clocks

The US Customs Service recently announced that stamping (by means of indelible ink) is permitted for the purpose of satisfying the marking requirement of imported watch or clock movement or case provided for in Chapter 91 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. An extract of the revised Additional Note 4 of Chapter 91 of the HTSUS is at Annex.
