Trade and Industry Department's Internet Homepage
- New "E-Services" Webpage

This is to inform traders that the Trade and Industry Department will launch a new "E-Services" webpage in its Internet website (TID Homepage) as from 18 December 2001. Traders are cordially invited to visit the new webpage and experience the convenience brought about by the new on-line services. The address of TID Homepage is www.tid.gov.hk. Note

2. The new "E-Services" webpage is another major step forward of the Department to facilitate traders in obtaining information from and making enquiries and lodging submissions with the Department. All services on the webpage are free of charge. The webpage will provide the following user-friendly on-line interactive electronic enquiry services :

   - import and export controls in Hong Kong, that is, the licensing and related registration requirements in relation to imports into and exports from Hong Kong ;

   - calendar of the registration and quota schemes, etc., under the purview of the Department ;

   - textiles quota holders and allocation list ;

   - textiles quota schemes balances and transfer information ;

   - status of various textiles quota applications ; and

   - registration list of Transhipment Cargo Exemption Scheme.

3. Current registrants of Textiles Controls Registration, Textiles Trader Registration and Factory Registration may make use of their user login account to enquire about their registration particulars and effect electronic applications/ submissions using their digital certificate through the webpage. Details of the new electronic services are at Annex.

4. We will continue to enhance the webpage and enrich its functions by phases. We are working at electronic textiles quota acceptance service to facilitate textiles quota holders to accept their textiles quota allocation electronically. The new service is scheduled to be launched in the coming quota allocation exercise in March 2002.
