Seminar for SMEs on "Eyes on Indonesia & the Middle East : New Business Opportunities in Adversity"

The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar entitled "Eyes on Indonesia & the Middle East : New Business Opportunities in Adversity" on May 26 (Tuesday). The seminar will introduce the government's support measures for SMEs on export promotion, and offer tips for SMEs to develop the two new markets of Indonesia and the Middle East amid the global economic downturn.

Speakers include the Economist of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd Mr Kelvin Lau and the bank's Head of Sales, Medium Enterprises, Greater China, SME Banking, Mrs Theresa Chow; FCPA (Practising) and Hon Secretary of the Society of Chinese Accountants & Auditors Mr Simon Ng; Trade Officer of the Trade and Industry Department Miss Vanessa Tang; and Deputy General Manager of the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation Ms Amy Wai. 

Executive Director of Long Cheong International Holdings Ltd, Mr Andy Wong, will share his successful experience of doing business in the new markets. Chairman of the SME Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director of ColArt Hong Kong Ltd, Mr Gerry Ma, will be the moderator for the SMEs' experience sharing session. 

The seminar will be held on May 26 at 2.30pm in the Lecture Theatre, ground floor, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (MTR Tin Hau station, exit B). It will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
