Joint seminar on licensing

The Trade and Industry Department's
Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) and Hong Kong Business Intermediary
Co. Ltd. (HKBI) will hold a joint seminar on licensing.
Interested parties are welcome
to attend the seminar on April 29 (Thursday) from 2.30 pm to 5 pm at the Lecture
Theatre, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
(Tin Hau MTR Station Exit B).
Speakers will explain what
licensing is and provide tips on how to choose suitable brandname for licensing.
Other topics to be examined include legal issues in licensing and brandname
protection, and effective marketing strategies in promoting a character or brandname.
Besides, successful licensor and licensee will share their experiences in running
a business.
Speakers will be Ms Wennie
Wong, International Brand Director, HKBI; Mr Tony Chak, Senior Manager-Business
Development, Daynice International Limited (Licensor of "Pork Chop &
Friends"); Mr Samuel Fung, Managing Director, Artech (Licensee of "Disney
Princess" and "Harry Potter"); Mr. William Lam, Senior Partner,
Hui & Lam Solicitors; and Ms Amy Lee, Managing Director, AQ Communications
Ltd.
The seminar will be conducted
in Cantonese. Admission is free. Interested parties are requested to register
with the Trade and Industry Department as seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served
