Under normal circumstances, CHKO and COP are ready for collection 1.5 clear working days after the date of application. Form A is ready for collection 2 clear working days after the date of application.

| Yes, certain amendments may be allowed. You can apply via electronically (For CHKO and COP) or in person (for Form A) to the Customer Service Centre of the Textiles Licensing Branch at 2/F., Trade and Industry Department Tower, 700 Nathan Road, Kowloon. Amendments to Certificate of Origin may only be made once within 30 days from the date of issue. |

Yes. Certificates of Origin are also issued by the following Government Approved Certification Organizations (GACOs):

How long will it take to approve an application for factory registration? |
| |
| Provided there are no complications, application for factory registration will be approved and ready for collection 14 clear working days after the date of application. |

What is the validity period of an approved local subcontracting application? |
| |
| 12 months counting from the approval date. |
| |
| |

When can the application for local subcontracting arrangement be approved and ready for collection after submission? |
| |
| Provided there are no complications, local subcontracting arrangement will be approved and ready for collection 1 clear working day after the date of application. |

What is the Outward Processing Arrangement (OPA)? |
| |
| The Outward Processing Arrangement (OPA) enables manufacturers registered with the Trade and Industry Department to subcontract outside Hong Kong the subsidiary or minor finishing processes without affecting the eligibility of such goods for attaining Hong Kong origin status. |

Who can participate in Outward Processing Arrangement? |
| |
| Participant must be factories registered under Factory Registration operated by Trade and Industry Department for certification purposes. However, prior registration for OPA is still required. |

|
How to obtain OPA registration? |
| |
| They should complete the application form (TID 121) and lodge them together with the required documents to Factory Registration and Origin Certification Branch of Trade and Industry Department. Please refer to "Guidance Notes on Application for OPA Registration" for details. |

What is the validity period of the registration? |
| |
| The OPA registration will be valid until the FR of the manufacturer expires, or when either the FR or OPA registration is cancelled or ceases to be effective, whichever is earlier. Manufacturers who wish to continue to use the OPA should renew their FR. The Department will inform the trade of the relevant procedures for renewal of FR in due course. |

| They can approach Factory Registration and Origin Certification Branch at 3/F., Trade and Industry Department Tower for a copy of Certification of Origin Circular No.13/2006 and No.15/2004 dated 1 August 2006 and 3 December 2004 respectively for details of OPA. |
